Intercultural Communication and World Englishes
Students in this seminar learn about, analyze, and discuss issues related to culture, language, English as a lingua franca, and how the languages we speak and our intercultural experiences shape our identity.

Culture and language shape our identity and worldview. In the twenty-first century, it is easier than ever to connect with cultures outside of our own. This affords us an opportunity to think critically about our native culture as well as to find connections with others. Learning about similarities, differences, and issues with intercultural communication and English as a lingua franca is an important aspect of language learning, becoming global citizens and developing fundamental skills for the future.
