The 7th Bunkyo/Cabrillo ECE Internship program has started now. We are delighted to have Nancy and Candice from Cabrillo College this year. They’ll be observing and participating in some classes as well as doing their internship at Fujimino Kindergarten. Bunkyo students are excited to see them and share their interests with them and also children in the kindergarten are ready and not too shy to ask them to play together. Their host families are welcoming them as well. I hope Nancy and Candice will enjoy their time here as much as we enjoy having them over. For Bunkyo students, this is a great opportunity to talk to them and learn from them. As usual, this website will show you all visiting this site how the students are doing during their stay in Japan for two weeks.

We had an orientation this morning to go over the schedule again. Nancy and Candice said that they slept well last night. That sounds like a good start to the program!

今年もカブリヨ大学からの研修生を受け入れるプログラムが始まりました。昨日の夕方に着いて、二人とも昨日は寮でよく眠れたそうです。いいスタートが切れたようです！

After the orientation, the students visited Fratto (meaning “just drop by”), the mother-child support center for infants and toddlers. It was not too hot today but children were enjoying water play.

いつものように、スケジュール確認のオリエンテーション終了後、「ふらっと」で子どもたちの姿に癒されました。

Nancy and Candice have learned their names written in Japanese. In fact, they realized that the announcement of their visit to our university including their photos was everywhere on campus. They are famous now!

二人とも自分の名前や顔写真が校内のいたるところに貼られていることに驚いたようでした。かなりの有名人になっています！

The welcome reception for Nancy and Candice was held on campus during lunch break. They met their host families as well as students and teachers at the party.

昼休みの間の短い時間でしたが、彼女たちの歓迎会が催されました。学生や教員をはじめ、この木曜日から滞在する二人のホストファミリーも来てくれ、話をすることができました。

Visiting the kindergarten at the end of a campus tour, a friendly girl came in to us to say hi to Candice.

午後からはキャンパスツアーで児童発達の学生がよく使う場所を学生たちが案内をしてくれ、最後に明日から実習に入るふじみ野幼稚園を訪れました。この女の子は英語でキャンディスに自己紹介をしてくれました。
