They spent a whole day in Tokyo. They saw many famous sightseeing spots. At first, they visited the Kiyomizu Kannon-do in Ueno, Tokyo’s oldest temple. The temple is supposed to be a copy of the Kiyomizu Temple in Kyoto. But you can’t go to Kyoto so easily, and neither can Yovania and Anabel! The temple is set in a background of greens, with a platform overlooking a circle made from pine tree. This circle (partially seen behind them) is called the pine tree of the moon, which in fact does not represent anything special, it was just a nice shape that became famous with local people and was picked up by Ukiyo-e artist Hiroshige in his One Hundred Famous Views of Edo, giving this shape historical significance.
今日は一日東京観光の日でした。この写真は、上野公園の清水観音堂の下で撮られたものです。彼女たちの後ろには、浮世絵に描かれた枝がくるりと輪を描いている「月の松」の一部が写っています。

They had lunch at the Inshoutei in Ueno Park. Kaiseki ryori was served there. It is a traditional Japanese multi-course meal prepared from fresh, seasonal ingredients. It often contains vegetable protein such as tofu, soy sheet, and konnyaku (devil’s tongue) instead of animal protein. Soy protein can be an acquired taste.
上野公園内の懐石料理レストラン「韻松亭」で、お昼を食べました。懐石料理では動物姓タンパク質に代わって、豆腐、湯葉、こんにゃくなどが使われます。食べ慣れていない人にはその手の食感が苦手だったようです。

They were at the gateway of the Hanazono Inari Shrine. Passing the gateway (multiple red Torii gates) means that you are entering the divine space. According to the Fushimi Inari Shrine located in Kyoto, the color acts as a blockage or obstruction to magical powers and evil spirits. At the same time as expressing the lively motion of life itself, orange color also serves as protection against misfortune and calamity.
上野公園内の花園稲荷神社に通じる鳥居の前で、二人に振り返ってもらいました。京都にある伏見稲荷神社によると、この赤い（朱色）の鳥居は、神社の中に悪い霊や気が侵入するのを防いでいると言います。
