The panda class teacher sometimes communicated with Yovania using the voice recognition tool, a Google Translate. Questions children wanted to ask were varied from favorite food to how to come to Japan.
パンダ組の先生もヨバニアと一生懸命に英語で話をしていました。時にはグーグル翻訳の助けもかりながら．．．子どもたちからの質問はいろいろでしたが、好きな食べ物や乗り物について、どうやって日本に来たのなどの疑問が聞かれました。

Yovania happened to experience a Tea Ceremony with the children at the tea room at our college. She tried peeking at other children how they are doing!
ヨバニアはこの日、パンダ組の番になっていた茶道体験にも参加しました。子どもたちはみんな静かに茶道のこころを聞いていました。ヨバニアは子どもたちの真似をするしかないのですが、なかなか見えにくいですね、ここからでは．．．

At the circle time, Anabel was reading “Brown bear, brown bear, what do you see?” to children. This book in Japanese is popular in Japan as well. They really got into it.
アナベルは絵本読みタイムで「くまさんくまさんなにみてるの？」を読んでくれました。この本もエリックカールの人気のある本で、日本語では知っている内容でも、英語では初めのようでした。子どもたちはとっても集中して聞いて、色と動物の名前を繰り返していました。

We visited Kodomono mori kindergarten this afternoon. This is a lunch room just like a nice restaurant where children learn table manners. From high chair to school lunch room to business lunches, children will have to eat with others throughout their lives. One of the graduates from this kindergarten and his mother who happened to visit the school today just told us how his kindergarten experiences shaped him for further education. A recent study seems to prove his comments: students who had learned much more in kindergarten were more likely to go to college than students with otherwise similar backgrounds.
午後からは、こどものもり幼稚園見学に出かけました。電車を３本乗り継いでたどり着いた幼稚園は、自然一杯のとても園舎が特徴的な幼稚園で、二人もすっかり気に入ったようでした。遠くても来た価値があります。この部屋は子どもたちのカフェテリアで、ここの厨房で作ったランチをみんなで食べます。レストランで食事をするようにテーブルマナーもたくさん学べるようです。「食事が人と一緒に食べることの意味を自然に教えてくれた」とたまたま訪れていたここの幼稚園の卒園生が話してくれました。さらに、ここでの学びがその後の進路に大きく影響を及ぼしたとも言っていて、最近の研究でも明らかになっていることを裏付ける話もしてくれました。

Thanks to the director, Mr. Wakamori, we really enjoyed talking with him about his ECE philosophy and exploring a beautiful building like children’s forest and play settings essential for all children.
ここの園は、児童発達学科の学生を受け入れてくれている実習園の一つにもなっていて、園長とは長いお付き合いをしていただいているところでもあります。今日も、幼児教育のこれからの行く末についていろんな話をしていただきました。長時間にわたり貴重なお話をありがとうございました。
