Yovania and Anabel were invited to Ms. Hata’s English class this morning. After introducing themselves, they demonstrated finger play songs such as “Open shut them” as seen in this photo. Children’s songs that feature interactive activities including finger plays and hand and body movements offer children a wide variety of fun and playful ways to learn language.
今日の午前中は、畑先生のGCI英語クラスに参加させてもらいました。彼女たちの自己紹介が終わってから、子どもたちに人気の手遊びをクラスのみんなと一緒にやりました。子どもが経験するように英語の音を体で感じてもらう実演では、「むすんでひらいて」の英語版を体験しました。

Students were divided into two groups and asked Yovania and Anabel about their impressions of Japan, staying with their host family, and their study at Cabrillo College.
男子と女子のグループに分かれて、ヨバニアとアナベルにQ＆Ａをしました。日本の印象、ホストファミリーでの生活、カブリヨでの専攻の話など、より詳しい質問で盛り上がっていました。

Anabel talked about Japanese hi-tech toilets (Washlet) with lots of options such as a heated seat, a spray of water, and a courtesy sound, Otohime (translation; Sound princess) !
アナベルが一番びっくりしたのはトイレのサウンド乙姫とシャワートイレだったようです。

They had a half day tour to downtown Tokyo this afternoon with Kamala from Nepal. It smells so fresh and clean after the rain. We enjoyed breathing fresh air at the giant shrine gate to Meiji shrine which is Tokyo’s largest and most famous Shinto shrine.
雨上がりの明治神宮大鳥居の前で、同行してくれたネパールからの留学生のカマラさんと一緒の一枚です。新鮮な空気を満喫しました。
