Usually at this season of the year, the irises are past their prime. However, this year we can still see some of the beautiful water irises in the pond.
例年シーズンが終わっているアイリスもまだ咲き残っていました。

They were at this huge collection of sake barrels donated by sake brewers from around Japan. Sake traditionally has been a connection between the gods and people in Japan. People would go to a shrine festival and be given rice wine to drink, and they would feel happy and closer to the gods.
明治神宮に奉納された酒樽の前での一枚です。酒は神道では邪気を払う神聖なものとされ、お祭りなどでお神酒として出され、それを飲んで幸福感にしたり、神に近づくということでしょう。

Then they went shopping in Harajuku. Takeshita street is a popular shopping street in Harajuku that’s famous for its wild subculture fashions. We also took a coffee break at a Mexican restaurant. That reminded them of their hometown!
竹下通り入口です。時間もかぎられていたので、オリエンタルバザールとKIDDY LANDで買い物を楽しみました。途中でメキシカンレストランでちょっと休憩し、故郷の味を思い出しました。
