Today Yovania and Anabel spent a whole day in Fujimino kindergarten. In this photo, Yovania was learning to experience an art project that children at this table was supposed to do for the summer festival. Art has so much to learn!
今日は全日、幼稚園での研修でした。ヨバニアはクラスの子どもたちと一緒に制作活動をしていました。週末のお祭りに向けて何かを作っているようです。

Anabel was smiling at this boy who tried to communicate with her in his very limited English. But it finally worked!
アナベルは砂場で子どもたちと一緒に、秘密基地を作っているようでした。この男の子は何かを一生懸命に説明していました。ここに少しだけ見えている木の根っこが「木の神様」になっているようでした。

I invited them to my junior seminar class late in the afternoon. The students wanted to ask Yovania and Anabel about their impressions on Japan. For instance, “What surprised you most?” “What happened if a parent complain about your teaching style?” “What is your favorite Japanese food?” and “Would you like to visit any particular places while you are here?”
今日の最後にはほんの３０分程、３年生のゼミに来てもらいました。日本に来てまだ５日ほどですが、どんな印象を今のところ持ったのかや、幼児教育の中での親と保育者との関係性などについてディスカッションしました。
