This afternoon the students visited Kodomono mori preschool which was located on the outskirt of Tokyo, accompanied by two Bunkyo students. The preschool was made from wood. That’s why it’s named Kodomono mori (= Children’s forest). In particular, the dining room was beautifully elegant, just like a stunning restaurant!
今日の午後からは「認定こども園こどものもり」を見学しました。文京の学生二人が連れて行ってくれました。園舎は全て木でできていて、まるで森にいるようです。特に食堂はエレガントで、素敵なレストランのようでした。

There are orchard fields behind the school, so they have all kinds of fruits. Gloria and Michaelyn enjoyed picking plums.
園の裏には果樹園があります。そこには様々な種類の果物がなっていました。二人もスモモの収穫をさせてもらいました。

What they were watching were Teru Teru Bosu dolls that children made. They both looked surprised to see them. It’s a small doll that Japanese make out of white paper or cloth and hang outside the windows. It’s supposed to bring good weather, and prevent rain. Thanks to Teru Teru Bozu dolls, it got so hot and humid today!
彼女たちが見ているのは、子どもたちが作ったてるてる坊主です。てるてる坊主の説明を受けて、彼女たちはびっくりしていました。そのおかげで、今日はこんなに良く晴れたのでしょうか。ちょっと効きすぎかもしれません。
