Spencer’s host father and Mimi’s host sister took them to school this morning. They had an orientation session with me reviewing their daily schedule. They had a great time with their host families last weekend.
今日からプログラムが始まりました。それぞれ、ホストファミリーに学校まで連れてきてもらって、オリエンテーションで日程の確認をしました。二人とも週末はホストファミリーと楽しんだようです。
After the orientation, I took Spencer and Mimi to Fratto Bunkyo, the parent-child support research center. They found it similar to Cabrillo Children’s Center. For instance, it’s a lab school and has an observation room for the ECE students.
その後、学内にある「ふらっと文京」の子育て施設を見学しました。二人の母校であるカブリヨ大学にある「子どもセンター」に似ているようです。親が一緒に来て利用する点は異なりますが、学生用に観察室がついているのは同じです。
They were good at finding their favorite toys and playing with them. They liked drawing with a water-based marker. They also liked trick picture books and a book about roly-polies.
２人とも、面白そうなおもちゃを発見するのは上手です！ 水のマーカ—でのお絵描きや仕掛け絵本・ダンゴムシの絵本はとっても気に入ったようです。
We had a welcoming party for Spencer and Mimi at lunch time. We hope they will enjoy trying many things while they are in Japan. To Bunkyo students, it’s a great opportunity to communicate with them in English and learn a lot from them.
お昼休みには、二人の歓迎会が開かれました。初来日の二人には、いろんなことに挑戦してもらいたいです。そして、文京の学生には二人に話しかけて、お互いが学び合える２週間になるといいですね。
Then they were invited to one of English classes in the afternoon. It was a small class, so they were able to talk a lot in pairs.
それから、英語（GCI）のクラスに参加させてもらって、学生たちとの交流を楽しみました。
They also visited Fujimino kindergarten where they will have their internships from tomorrow on and met their classroom teachers. (Sorry that I forgot taking any photos there!)
クラス参加後に、明日から実習に入るふじみ野幼稚園を訪問し、先生方と会って挨拶をすることができました。（すっかり写真を撮るのを忘れてしまって、写真はありません）
Saya, Mimi’s host sister, took Spencer and Mimi to her class called Expressions. I have no idea about this class activity, but they looked excited. That’s what all accounts.
今日の最後は、ミミのホストシスターが受講している表現活動のクラスに参加させてもらいました。体を動かしての表現方法を、二人とも楽しんだようです。
