Mimi and Spencer participated in Prof. Hata’s English class. Each of them joined the group for discussion.
今日の１限は、GCIの畑先生の英語の授業に参加させてもらいました。自己紹介の後は、各グループに入ってディスカッションで意見交換したようです。
They had a half day tour to Tokyo with two Bunkyo students. They visited Meiji shrine. It is one of the most famous and important shrines in Tokyo, as well as one of the most-visited. They purified their hands and mouth before visiting the shrine.
今日は１限が終わり次第、東京の半日ツアーを楽しみました。ガイド役の文京の二人の学生は今年の３月カブリヨ大学で、二人にお世話になりました。明治神宮に参拝する前に、手水舎で身を清めました。
In Japan, sake has always been a way of bringing our gods and people together. In the physical, the barrels are empty. In the spiritual, Meiji Shrine Sake Barrels are a gift to the gods.
神社にあるこのような酒樽は、神様へのプレゼントなんですって。
There is also a large iris garden adjacent to the shrine, which is at its most beautiful in June. Being surrounded by a small forestry and greenery, the environment in and around Meiji Shrine is a nice, quiet piece of sanctuary for local wildlife. Mimi and Spencer love nature!
明治神宮庭園では、この季節、花菖蒲がちょうど終わりかけているようでした。しかし、都会の中の静けさが残るこの辺りは、MimiもSpencerも気に入ったようです。
They had a late lunch at a noodle shop. They walked a lot and must have been very hungry!
予定より時間をかけて神宮内を周ったので、お昼が遅くなってしまいました。うどんを食べているところです。たくさん歩いて、二人ともかなり疲れているようでした。
Most tourists visit districts like Shibuya and Harajuku to go shopping. So did they! Harajuku is the center of pop culture and the street fashion in Tokyo.
今日の最後は、原宿の竹下通りでのショッピングでした。二人ともそれぞれに自分の洋服を買ったようです。
