観察が終わってから、すべてのみかんが箱に戻されました。さて、自分の担当のこどもを、この箱の中から見つけだすことができたでしょうか。教室の中の生徒は先生からはみな同じように見えますが、個人個人をよく観察すれば、何か違いを見つけ出すことができるというわけです。多くの学生は自分のみかん・子どもを見つけ出すことができたようでした。いい先生になる素質がありそうですね！　その後は、マズローの自己実現の話を、ビデオを見ながらわかりやすく教えてもらいました。もっと興味のある学生は心理学のクラスを取りましょう！

After their observation, all the tangerines went back in the box and Sesario put them randomly on the table. The students were asked to come to the table and find their own tangerines. Most of them seemed to find theirs. When we teach 30 children in the classroom, we tend to see them collectively but it’s important to learn each child is gifted in some unique way. Then, he talked about Maslow’s pyramid. Maslow created his hierarchy of needs from an individualistic perspective, being that he was from the United States, a highly individualistic nation.  Some criticism may stem from the fact that Maslow’s concept neglects the difference between the social and intellectual needs of those raised in individualistic societies and those raised in collectivist societies like Japan. What an intriguing topic!  Thank you, Sesario, for bringing this up to my students’ attention.

さあ、ここからが学生の出番です。それぞれの学生が一人ずつ、家族と過ごした２週間について感謝の言葉を述べます。胸がいっぱいで何も言えなくなる学生が多いのですが、ここの二人の家は家族全員がもらい泣きしていました！

Time for students’ presentation in English finally came. They practiced expressing their appreciation for having had a great time with their families but most of them started crying, being touched by emotion, but their feelings were conveyed to their families. When these two students cried, all in this family cried in sympathy!

ここの家では、学生たちがやっと泣きながら感謝の言葉を述べた後は、すっきりしたのかこのように全員笑顔です！

These two students also felt overwhelmed with emotion and got teary eyes but after crying they were all smiles.

これがうわさの「文京ケーキ」です。だれもうわさしていませんかね．．．　味は結構いけます。しかし、青いクリームは要注意です。舌や歯が真っ青になり、怖い顔になりますが、それを学生たちは楽しんでいました！

This is the Bunkyo Cake that everyone is talking about!  Nobody ever talks about it?!  Well, this tastes so good!  Everyone should try some!

修了式終了後の集合写真です。皆さんとてもいい笑顔ですね。ホストファミリーの皆さん、カブリヨ大学の関係者の皆さん、本年も無事プログラムを終了することができました。皆さんの協力と温かいサポートに心より感謝いたします。明日の土曜日が家族と過ごす最後の日になります。楽しい週末にしてください！
