2016年海外短期フィールドワーク(児童発達学科）

今年も海外短期フィールドワーク（児童発達コース）の時期がやってきました。今年で7回目となる恒例の行事でもあり、児童発達学科の実習の一つでもあります。カリフォルニア州サンタクルーズに滞在し、州立カブリヨ大学で幼児教育の講義を受けながら、現地の小学校・幼稚園や保育所で全日実習を行うものです。英語はなかなか通じませんが、部分実習もやります。子どもたちが実によく楽しんでくれて、最終日は涙ながらのお別れとなることもあります。選択の実習ではありますが、参加学生は一生忘れることのない経験をして帰国の途につきます。さあ、今年はどんなドラマが待っているのでしょうか！このサイトで学生たちの様子をご覧ください。

2016 Early Childhood Education (ECE) Fieldwork Program in Santa Cruz

It’s time to set up the annual website for the ECE Fieldwork program which is one of the feature practical training programs offered in the Department of Child Development.  This is the 7th time for the participating students to learn ECE at Cabrillo College and interact with children at local preschools and elementary schools in the Santa Cruz areas while they stay with dedicated host families. The Bunkyo students wholeheartedly enjoy playing with children and sharing some activities, so it’s even so sad to leave when they’ve finished  This year 13 students are participating in this program.  As usual, I’m sure each of them will have unforgettable experiences to tell us.  Please visit this site to see how they are doing here.  Now it’s Showtime, students!

いつもここからのスタートです！元気いっぱいで9時間以上のフライトも耐えられそうです。行ってきます!

数時間しか寝られなかったと言っている学生が多い割にはみんな元気で無事サンノゼ空港に到着し、現地スタッフであるけんさんが迎えてくれました。あいにくの雨でしたが、その後は、1時間ほどでサンタクルーズに到着し、ホストファミリーの出迎えを受けてそれぞれの家への向かいました。今日はゆっくりやすめるでしょうか。。。。

Yes, they could!  Many said that they slept only for a few hours, but they still looked good!  We safely arrived at San Jose and were picked up by Ken, Jinsu, and Frances.
The weather may not have been warm and welcoming but all the host families certainly were!  At the Cabrillo College Parking K, the students enjoyed meeting their host families and went home.  I hope they can sleep well tonight!
