【2016年 海外短期フィールドワーク 児童発達学科 報告03-1】
■ Cabrillo College（アメリカ カリフォルニア州 サンタクルーズ） で、3/13〜3/28までの海外短期フィールドワークです。

今日から実習の授業の始まりです。「カブリヨ大学子どもセンター」のディレクターであるトリシャが「子どもセンター」についての説明をしてくれました。例えば、カリフォルニア州の保育養成校のモデルとして認可を受けていて、様々な子どもへの発達に応じた対応や親支援の充実したプログラムを提供していることで、見学者が絶えないとのことでした。子どもセンターの概要がわかったところで、一階にある、3つのクラス（乳児、幼児期前期、幼児期後期）についている観察室の中から観察を行いました。子どもたちのかわいい姿に一同思わず笑顔がこぼれますが、撮影は一切禁止されているので写真はありません。
The students were at the 1500 building at Cabrillo College where ECE classes are conducted and the Children’s Center is located. The director of the Children’s Center, Tricia, talked about how the people in ECE department and the Children’s Center at Cabrillo think about children and their parents. ECE students have the opportunity to complete student teaching and internship experiences in the Children’s Center classrooms. The Center also provides culturally responsive and family-oriented care and education. After the brief introduction Tricia gave us, we went down to visit three classrooms for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. The students observed children, teachers, and the environment from the observation room. The children all looked so cute and adorable. That made us all smile! No photo here.

皆さんの初ランチを紹介しましょう。カブリヨの学生たちに交じって、どのグループも外で食べていました。ホストマザーが作ってくれたり、自分で冷蔵庫を開けて好きなものを入れて作ってきたりと様々でしたが、感想は「おいしい」の一言でした！
Today was the first day for the students to bring their lunches from home. Some made their own lunch by themselves and some had their lunch made by their host mom. But they all answered “Delicious” to the question, “How was your lunch?”

こちらのグループは野外劇場のようなところで初ランチです。
These students enjoyed their lunch while sitting on the bench in the place like an open air theater.

こちらの二人は家から持ってきたランチをすでに食べてしまい、カフェテリアで買って食べるという経験もしたかったと言っていました。
These two had already eaten their lunch brought from home. They said they wanted to experience in purchasing some food at the cafeteria. Are home lunches better than cafeteria food?!

たった一人参加の男子学生はもう食べ終えてデザートになっていました。
We have a male student in the group this year. He had already finished his lunch but he was trying to have a snack upon my request.

全員ランチも無事終了し、午後からの授業の準備もできたようですね！
They all had delicious lunches and now got ready to study again in the afternoon!
