■ Cabrillo College（アメリカ カリフォルニア州 サンタクルーズ） で、3/13〜3/28までの海外短期フィールドワークです。

いよいよ実習が始まりました。今日と明日は２つの小学校での実習です。この写真の２人は、リンズコット小学校のレインボールーム（１〜３年生混合クラス）に入って、テーブル別指導の補助をしているところです。このテーブルは、ボランティアの日系人の親が「日本文化紹介」というテーマで、日本語の数字の読み方と書き方の練習をしていました。「一、二、三、四．．．十」までの数字を書く練習のお手伝いです。
The students’ internships began in two elementary schools (Linscott Charter School and Mar Vista Elementary School) today. These students in this photo were in the Rainbow Room in Linscott which is a multi-age class of 6-to 9-year -olds. The students were helping first graders at this table learn how to write numbers in Japanese with brush pen.

その後は、本の読み聞かせをしていましたが、学生たちは１年生に交じって真剣に聞いていました。内容はわかっていないようにみえましたが．．．。聞き続けるしかないでしょうね！
After that, one of parent volunteers read the book to the children. The Bunkyo students listened to the story carefully but still didn’t seem to understand what it was saying. Keep listening to more stories!

こちらの２人はハミングバードホール（一番下のクラスのKクラス）に入って、これから休み時間を外遊びで過ごすところです。
These two were in the Hummingbird Hall (Kindergarten class). They were just getting out of class for a break.

縄跳びは今、子どもたちの間で人気がある遊びだと担任の先生が言っていましたね。うまく何度も飛べる子と、この子のように一回だけしか飛べない子もいましたが、みんな飛ぶことを楽しんでいるようでした。
The teacher told them that children love jumping rope. It was fun to jump by oneself, but it was even more fun to have a long rope and jump with friends together. But first they need to practice jumping. This student had a hard time spinning the long rope!
