【2016年 海外短期フィールドワーク 児童発達学科 報告10-2】
■ Cabrillo College（アメリカ カリフォルニア州 サンタクルーズ） で、3/13〜3/28までの海外短期フィールドワークです。

こちらのグループでは英語版かごめかごめに似たような遊びをしていたようです。日本のとはちょっとちがうようですが、子どたちと真似をしているとすぐルールはわかってきますね。
These people were doing something like Ring a ring o Roses, but not quite the same. The students were able to follow the rules of the game by imitating what children were doing.

休み時間が終わって、こちらのペアーはすぐに部分実習が始まりました。子どもたちはみんな注目していましたね。緊張する中で、少なくても最初は何も見ないで言おうとしているのがよかったです！
Right after recess, it was time for these students to do some activity they had prepared for. All the children were nice and quiet. The students did the best they could.

紙皿をつかってのだるまづくりですが、子どもたちは結構うまくやれていました。器用な子は折り紙での飾りもつけていて、予定通りのできだったのではないでしょうか。出来上がりに日本語で名前を書いてあげるのも、とっても喜んでいましたね。
Making Daruma dolls with paper plates went well since the children were able to follow well whatever they were told to do. Thanks to the teacher who helped them with additional instructions, the children had fun.

こちらのグループでは、紙コップを使ってのけん玉あそびです。けん玉がとてもタイムリーであったことがわかりました。担任の先生が、この学校では今けん玉（Kedama,けだまと発音していました）が大変人気で、”Kendam Friday”というのがあって、全校で金曜日はけん玉をする日もあるのだそうです。子どもたちは紙コップで出来たけん玉は入りやすいので、楽しんでくれてましたね。
The teacher in this first grade class told us that Kendama has been very popular in this school. They even have a regular event called “Kendama Friday.” So the students didn’t have to explain at all what Kendama is like. However, Kendama made out of paper cups were so simple and so easy to play with. All the Bunkyo students were really impressed by the way Mr. P was able to fit into the natural flow of the classroom interaction.

今日の実習の終わりは、カブリヨに集合しての「振り返り」セッションでした。現場で経験したことはたくさんありましたね。学校の違いというよりは各先生の違いで、クラスの中がずいぶん違っていることが報告されていました。各々が様々に感じたことは、帰国後の報告書に是非書いておいてください。
They all came back to Cabrillo for a reflection session. There were so many things to be discussed and be reported in their papers which the students have to submit upon their return to Japan. All agreed that teachers do make a difference in children’s learning, a big difference!.
