■ Cabrillo College（アメリカ カリフォルニア州 サンタクルーズ） で、3/13〜3/28までの海外短期フィールドワークです。

去年、プログラムの３年契約がまた更新され、協定書がカブリヨに送られていました。現在来ているCabrillo側が受け入れてくれるFW（フィールドワーク）に関するものと、文京側でカブリヨの学生を受け入れるものの２種類の契約書が２通とも、すべてのサインが完了したことになります。サインをしてくれた人文系学部長であるイザベルのオフィスに取りに行ったときに撮った写真です。
Two kinds of Letters of Agreement between Bunkyo and Cabrillo have been renewed for another three years. The departments of ECE in both schools send their students to each school (to Cabrillo in March and to Bunkyo in June/July). I received fully signed contracts at Isabel’s office. She is one of the signers in the contracts.

今日はもう２つの保育施設での実習風景を紹介します。
こちらは、カブリヨ大学子どもセンター内のプリスクールの教室です。ここは幼児教育の教員養成校でもあるので、学生たちも同じように貴重な助言を受けられたのはよかったのですが、もう少し英語がわかれば、もっと理解が深まったのに残念でした。こちらの男の子たちに砂をかけられて困ったときの制止の仕方について、後で先生から教わっていましたね。
Three students were assigned to have internship experiences at Preschool classroom in the Cabrillo Children’s Center. Since this is a lab school, there are interns and student teachers as well as a master teacher. They gave Bunkyo students some suggestions and explained what they would have done differently and why. That was very valuable for them, only if they understood English better. This student learned how to say “stop” to these boys who splashed muddy water on his face.

大きなブロックで家をつくっていました。この左の男の子が熱心に何かを尋ねていますが、上の女の子はどうも聞き入れてくれていないようです。子どもたちのこのようなやり取りもわかるようになるともっと楽しいですね。
Children enjoyed building a house with big blocks. But the boy on the left seemed to complain about something but the girl on the block house didn’t seemed to accept it. It was very interesting conversation between children but difficult for this student to understand.

こちらでは、二人の女の子がお互いにおしゃれをして遊んでいました。着て遊べる洋服もたくさん並んでいるコーナーです。
This student was helping these girls wear the same pieces of jewelry at the pretend play corner with a lot of dress-up materials.

ランチ前に集まった子どもたちに絵本を読み、その中に出てくる虹色の魚を書いてもらう活動をしていました。虹色の魚は、きれいなうろこを一枚小さな魚にあげることで友達をたくさん作ることができたという話は、日本でも子どもたちに知られていますね。この活動はカブリヨの実習生が担当していました。
This group of children spent time before lunch drawing rainbow fish from the book read by the teacher. She read The Rainbow Fish and explored the importance of what we can give and share. This book in Japanese is also well-known in Japan.

こちらもランチ前の活動ですが、スペイン語を話す子どもたちのグループで、スペイン語と英語で「はらぺこあおむし」を読んでいました。これは日本でも有名なので、問題なく理解できてよかったです！
At this bilingual table, the teacher read the Hungry Caterpillar in Spanish. This is also a very popular book in Japan, so this student was able to follow the class!
