■ Cabrillo College（アメリカ カリフォルニア州 サンタクルーズ） で、3/13〜3/28までの海外短期フィールドワークです。

ランチグループは３つに分かれるのですが、こちらはその３つ目のグループで、絵本読みが終わった後に、きゅうりとミルクとパスタのランチを食べ始めていました。おいしかったそうです！
This group of children has already started having lunch outside. They were having two cucumbers, milk, and pasta. They all tasted good, this student reported.

こちらは、「チルドレンズ・アレー」という小さな保育所です。一軒家をそのまま使った家庭保育所のようなところで、人数も１２名までと小じんまりしています。オーナーのジムが、お帰りのサークルタイムで動物ががぶがぶ餌を食べる様子を、歌と一緒に読んでいました。
This is Children’s Alley which is a licensed family children’s center. They serve up to 12 children. These students were at the circle time when Jim, the director, was reading “Gobble it up.” “You’d gobble them up and they’d taste good” is the repeated line in the song about animal feeding.

お昼を食べているグループです。この学生はお水を配る係をまかされていました。
It’s lunch time for these children. This student was serving water to each child.

虫眼鏡で見ているのは、百匹はいるという小さな蚕で、桑の葉を食べていましたね。最後は立派な着物になるという本がそばに置いてありました！
There were more than a hundred tiny silkworms in the box, eating mulberry leaves. Children can use a magnifying glass to help see the small insects like silkworms. The book about silkworm life cycle placed on the table tells you how they turn to silk fabric.

庭の遊具はジムの手作りおもちゃもたくさんあって、充実しています。
Most toys on the playground were made by Jim. They are very nice.
