午前中のセッションは、けんさんのオリエンテーションから始まり、その後ここでの生活の心得などを日本語を交えながら話していただきました。まずは、一人ひとり昨日の午後から初めて過ごしたホストファミリーとの時間について話してもらいました。「日本語でもいいよ」と言われ全員ほっとして、それぞれの思いを話していました。例えば、いろんな種類のペットを飼っている家が多いこと、家がとにかく大きくてプールもついていること、食べ物の量が多いこと、子どもたちは家の中も外も裸足で駆け回っていること、知らない人でも挨拶をしてくれるような風土、家の中の会話は早くてついていけないこと、しかし、翻訳アプリを使って何とかしてコミュニケーションを図ってくれようとしていることに感謝などがあげられていました。これらの様子が次からの写真で伝わるでしょうか。

The first orientation with Ken started at 9:30 this morning.  Ken asked each student how the first day with her/his host family went.  The students spent only a half day yesterday in their host home.  They, however, had so many things to tell (in Japanese).  For instance, many students talked about many kinds of animals kept in their house, a huge house with a pool, a large portion of every dish, children running everywhere barefoot, very friendly people greeting strangers like them on the street, people speaking English too fast to participate in, and kindness for the family to try to understand them using translation application.  I hope the following photos can tell how enthusiastic they were when they talked about their first day.
