ここからは、家族ごとに学生たちからの感謝の気持ちを伝える時間です。自分の家族が呼ばれたら一緒に前に出て、家族をみんなに紹介します。そして、感謝の気持ちをつづったカードを読み始めますが、涙でよく読めません！ 家族ももらい泣きです。それぞれの家族で、いろんなことをしたエピソードが伝えられていました。とても有意義で楽しい時間だったことはわかります。みんな帰りたくないそうです！ 家族からも学生たちの様子が語られました。お手伝いをよくやってくれたのでキッチンがいつもピカピカだったと感謝している家、子どもとよく遊んでくれてお母さんがとても助かったという家、日本の文化を知って今度は自分たちが日本に行って見たいと考えている家などなど、みんなとても好意的に言葉のわからない学生たちを理解しようとしてくれたことに、このグループのアメリカ人の寛容さを感じました。

Next the students and their family came up to the front and the students introduced them to the audience, and gave a thank-you speech.  I assume they wanted to say so many things but the words do not express well because of their limited language and strong feelings.  Well, we cannot express our feelings through words, right?  All, however, wanted to say something like this; They now see their host family as their real family.  They will be sad to leave them.  They also said that the people in the family are always trying to make the students happy with funny things and life experiences, and also helped them with their problems. All were full of gratitude for them.

The families also added some comments on their students’ life in their house.  They were so generous, receptive, and affectionate!
