今年も今日から、児童発達コース海外短期フィールドワークがスタートしました。今年で10年目の節目を迎えます。いつもより少し少ない13名ではありますが、元気いっぱいの児童発達学科の学生たちが２週間のサンタクルーズでの実習体験に挑戦します。その様子を毎日このページでアップしていきますので、お楽しみください。
We are back again in this site to let you know what students majoring in Early Childhood Education will get to learn during their internships at local preschools and elementary schools and how they enjoy their lives in Santa Cruz. This year is our 10th year and we have 13 students headed to Santa Cruz. Each year we had a different story about their experiences to tell you. So I, as an accompanying teacher, wonder how different this year’s trip is going to be!

約９時間のフライトにも耐え、みんな元気にサンフランシスコに到着しました。現地はこのところ雨の日が多いといましたが、今日もやはり雨模様で、しかも寒かったです。
We’ve got to San Francisco Airport after surviving a 9-hour long flight. The students look all vibrant! People say that it has been very rainy in this area for the last few months and we found it right: it was raining today too. It was also colder than we expected!

雨交じりのサンフランシスコを出て、サンタクルーズに着くと、すっかり晴れ上がった青い空が私たちを迎えてくれました。これから2週間、何かいいことが起こりそうな予感がありましたね。ホストファミリーとの初対面の挨拶は、言葉より笑顔とハグで始まったようです。
We left San Francisco and headed to Santa Cruz. When we got there, the sun was shining and the blue skies welcomed us. We feel like something good is going to happen for the next two weeks. All the host families came to see their students who are going to stay in their homes. They told us that we brought a beautiful weather over here from Japan (at least today!). They greeted each other with lots of hugs and smiles.
