【2019年 海外短期フィールドワーク 児童発達学科 報告07】

1週目が終わりました。週末はいつものようにフランシスの家でパーティーがあり、たくさんのおいしい食べ物と、素敵な仲間と、いい時間を過ごしました。写真の学生たちは、サンタクルーズのピザのお店で買ったＴ-シャツを見せてくれました。
We had a party at Frances’s house this evening as usual. We enjoyed good food, good company, and good time! These students showed me Pizza Heart T-shirts that they like.

フランシスのところにホームステイしているこの二人は、フランシスのお手伝いで忙しかったですね。彼女たちのとっては、この家はすっかり自分の家のようになっているようです！ どこに何があるかを他の人にも教えていました。
Chinatsu and Tomoka staying in this house were busy preparing main dishes with Frances. Their house feels like home to them!

今回ホストファミリーになっているすべての家族が集まってくれました。それぞれ持ってきてくれた食べ物も、とってもおいしいものばかりでした。子どものいる家は子どもたちを他の学生にも紹介してくれて、遊びの相手にもなっていましたね。自己紹介も１週間いて、ずいぶん慣れてきたようですね。自分の名前もハグもとっても自然にできるようになっていました。これは大きな進歩です！ この調子で頑張りましょう。
All the families got together at Frances’s. This was a pot luck party so each family brought over some food to share.
Some families came with their children and they enjoyed playing table tennis. The students had a chance to see other families and talk with them. They’ve been here for a week now and they became familiar with greetings with hugs like saying “Hi, my name is xxx” without hesitation! That’s a big improvement, everyone!

パーティーも後半になり、リビングにあるピアノの前に集まって、ルーシオ（ジンスさんとケンさんの息子さん）のピアノ演奏を聴きました。彼は小さいころからピアノをやっていて、今日はJazzを聞かせてくれました。素晴らしい演奏でした！
We asked Lucio, Ken and Jinsu’s son, to play a Jazz piece on the piano. He did beautifully!

学生たちの中からも、和真がボヘミアンラプソディーのイントロの部分を弾いてくれました。Queenのファンがたくさんいたようで、受けていましたね。さっと1曲みんなの前で弾ける曲があるのはいいですね。そして少しぐらい間違ってもいいので、恥ずかしがらずにすぐに弾いてくれる態度も大事です。みんなから喝さいを浴びていました！
Next Kazuma played the intro of Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen! We love it! Some students also can play the piano but they are too shy to perform in front of people. The whole room burst into applause to Lucio and Kazuma!

パーティーを開くのは重労働です！ 楽しいですが、準備や後片付けが大変です。それをいとわず、フランシスは毎年このようなパーティーを開いてくれることに感謝します。後片付けは学生たちも手伝ってくれて、あまり時間をかけずに終わってよかったです。残りの週末も各家庭で楽しみましょう！
Having a party is a blast but clean-up after it can be a chore. But many students helped clean up the kitchen. Good job! I really appreciate all that Frances has done for an another successful party! I hope the students will enjoy the rest of their weekend!
