(主なテーマ)

My research field is multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary. As an immigrant myself, I have used a sociolinguistic approach to study the Brazilian Community in Japan for the past ten years, focusing on identity formation and second language acquisition. My current research interests are centered on fashion and media, with a particular focus on the role of dress in contemporary Japanese society and fashion subcultural identities. I am also conducting joint research on English education, with a focus on the importance of a Global Englishes-based ideology and issues in English education in Japanese universities.
